Awards and Honors

November, 2013, Mary Virginia Griffin won 1st Place for the Level 1 Social Sciences Research at the LSU Undergraduate Research Symposium. Mary Virginia's work and presentation were judged by a panel of researchers and professors from the LSU academic community.  

November, 2014, Caitlin Brown received a Student Fellowship Award from the Academy of Neurological Communication Disorders and Sciences (ANCDS).  Her mentor was Dr. Mary Purdy, University of Southern Connecticut.

April, 2015 Caitlin Brown received the award for Outstanding Student Research at the LSU Life Course and Aging Center (LCAC) Student Research Symposium held in conjunction with the LCAC's Community Partners Luncheon, held at the Lod Cook Alumni Center. The Outstanding Student Research Award is based on peer-review by LCAC Faculty, and includes a stipend.

May, 2015 Caitlin Brown received the award for Outstanding M.A. Graduate Student from the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders. This award is given based on the student's research, academic, and citizenship while in the COMD Program.
